I had to start another blog. Something was wrong with the other one. Maybe it shriveled up and died from loneliness. Let's see how long this one lasts.
Only 47 more school days for Hope and Braden, slightly less for Chelsea. You know how seniors are though, I am sure she has mostly mentally checked out already. The college acceptances are in and she is going to . . . drum roll . . . Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts. She got $60,000 in scholarships. Yipee! It is very far away, not so yipee. It will be an amazing experience for her. For me I am trying to find reasons why I might be excited she is leaving. Notably, now that we are down to only two kids at home I no longer need to drive a minivan. This is very exciting. After all this time and three minivans I am ready to graduate to something with one or two cool points. I have no dilusions of large numbers of cool points, but a few would be nice.
I spent a huge part of the weekend planting in the front yard. Then this morning I went out and found that a bleeding heart that was there from before and was finally doing reasonably well was practically eaten to the ground. Darn those deer. They are cute and adorable until they destroy hours of hard work and nurturing. Perhaps I can put little protective cages around each of the plants. Deer are not supposed to like bleeding hearts. They just did it out of spite. Bad Bambi!
What else? Hmmmm. I have been painting inside on the days that are too rainy to work outside. So far I just have the kitchen/family room done. It was a huge project considering that it took a whole day just to tape. And the trim all needed to be repainted. There are three more gallons in the garage and a forecast of rain for the whole week, so we'll see how far I get. It's amazing how cruddy the walls can get after five years and three kids. I think one of my favorite things in the world is freshly painted walls.
Braden gets his license two weeks from friday. His birthday is wednesday, but it takes forever to get an appointment at the DMV. He is so excited. I am excited not to have to drive him to school at 6:45 in the morning any more.
The taxes were done this year with 48 hours to spare. Yea, no midnight run to the post office. This is a record for us.
I guess that's about it. We are mostly blah, blah, blah, same old, same old. I hope everyone else is doing well.

I also love freshly painted walls, it's going to have to wait though. New baby- basement work (I guess those walls will count:)). Hooray for Chelsea getting such a good scholarship (not too suprised though,heh)!
yay, hi, and welcome back to blogging, happy to see you again! I always have enjoyed your writing, so when you can post again, that's cool. But I'm one to talk. I let weeks and weeks go by without reading anyone's blogs, or posting anything to mine.

Wow, Massachusetts. I'm not even smart enough to spell that on my own. Way to go on the scholarship, Chelsea. Most impressive.
And I can't believe Braden is getting his license! I suppose you'll tell me next that Hope is going to be in Junior High or something next year. I still sometimes think of her as the captivating 2-year-old who said Madeline kept her up all night cause she wouldn't stop kicking her. And she had to always wear her "flocky" shoes (sparkly shoes). Time does fly, and go achingly slow at the same time, doesn't it.
